Just above Challacombe is the deserted farmstead and field systems of Radworthy.  This area was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 indicating that it was occupied from at least Anglo-Saxon times. A complex system of field boundaries hints of  many hundreds of years of farming on the site.  A recent LIDAR (remote sensing) survey has shown up two circular platforms which might possibly be Iron Age hut circles.

This site has never been properly recorded.  There is the need for detailed drawings of all earthworks, photographic surveys, a study of historic maps and some geophysics on some of the more ephemeral areas.  There is also a need to look at the documentary history and to seek out  oral history of the site.
